Gains Influence," The Public Eye, vol. 8, no. 1, March
1994, pp. 1-7, and vol. 8, no. 2, June 1994, pp. 1-6. Christian
Reconstructionist political strategy for a generation in California
has been to build a local movement in which conservatives might be
able to maximize their influence by being able to prevail in local
GOP primaries for state legislature. In the 1990's this strategy nearly
led to a Christian Right take over of both houses of the California
legislature. A resurgent Democratic Party has since taken back the
legislature.

had campaigned on the promise to hang his plaque at the state supreme
