City unhappy over new star

Hollywood, California "Jesus Christ, the Son of God," got his own star on Wilshire Boulevard this past summer. A replica in size and color of the many other stars embedded in Hollywood's famous street, the Jesus star features a gold sword over a Bible.

The Rev. Phillip Wagner, pastor of the Oasis Christian Center, said he got the idea after seeing Billy Graham's star near Mann's Chinese Theater. "I thought, 'why not have one for Jesus Christ,'" he said.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce was miffed, as the church did not seek or have permission to place the star in the sidewalk. While it will allow the star to remain, future stars placed in the sidewalk in front of the church must be of different size and color than the pink terrazzo stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
