Extremist runs for Congress

Pleasanton, California — Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry kicked off his congressional campaign fundraising tour in the California gold fields by speaking to more than 200 people at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in May. Terry, who is seeking to unseat incumbent Maurice D. Hinckey (D-NY), ventured from upstate New York to seek funds among California’s conservative Christians.

According to published reports, Terry is among a small group of Republican antiabortion activists running for Congress calling themselves the "Patrick Henry Men."

Terry once said, "I want you just to let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good...We have a Biblical duty, we are called by God to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism."
