God's wrath manifests in Midwest

According to a recent Gallup Poll, about 20% of Americans surveyed believe the summer floods in the Midwest are examples of God's judgment on the United States.

"The floods are the judgment of God," said anti-abortion activist Randall Terry. Because Americans are murdering babies and accepting homosexuality, he said, God is judging America by sending hurricanes, floods, and AIDS.

Terry's remarks were made in San Jose, California during Operation Rescue's recent "Cities of Refuge" campaign. While in San Jose, Terry, a leading Religious Right activist, espoused the movement's theocratic agenda, saying that the United States must be made into "a Christian nation, firmly built on the Ten Commandments."
