Repression against Demonstrators is nothing new
Original cutline:
The Second Battalion of the 9th Coast Artillery Corps (formerly the
Veteran Corps of Artillery) New York Guard gave New York City an exhibition
of how they would handle a riot in the streets.
Photo shows them in hollow square formation. Machine gunners deployed
in front of the square, control the street while troopers with levelled
rifles back them up. The soldiers at the sides of the square are covering
the windows on the sides of the square.
