Director of Development and Communications Tom Louie was the Executive Director of Mass. English Plus Coalition and the Assistant Director at MIRA (Mass. Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition). He has organized statewide advocacy and education efforts on behalf of language minority and immigrant communities in Massachusetts. Mr. Louie was instrumental in pushing for the passage of legislative provisions protecting the rights of language minority students in Massachusetts and the state’s first Emergency Room Interpreter Services Bill. He is also a media skills trainer and activist, conducting media access trainings for grassroots activists and community-based organizations. He is a member of the national Progressive Communicators Network.
