Full Catalog
Welcome to the Political Research Associates online resource catalog. PRA
is an independent nonprofit research center that has been studying the political
Right since 1981. During that time, we have developed an extensive knowledge
and nuanced analysis of the Right. And every year, through our publications
and website, we share that expertise with thousands of activists, organizers,
journalists, policy makers, educators, students and others. In the following
pages, you’ll find materials that can help you better understand what’s behind
the current right-wing assault on democratic values and pluralism in our society—and
how you can respond.
This catalog represents a partial listing of materials available from PRA.
Because PRA is a clearinghouse for information on the Right and an archive,
thousands of primary and secondary source documents are housed in our research
library. Please contact us if you have particular information needs.

"For those Americans who fear the rise of
the Right, The Public Eye is crucial reading."
— David Corn, Washington Editor, The Nation

conservatives and Christian fundamentalists to the armed citizens’ militias
of the paramilitary far right. The Public Eye will help you navigate the complexities
of the Right and keep you abreast of important trends and developments. Issues
include an in-depth feature article, resource lists, book listings and updates

A resource guide for understanding and challenging the right-wing attacks
on democracy, 2001.
Based on PRA's twenty years experience monitoring the Rights, Defending
Democracy provides facts and analysis on the threat the Right poses

Right-Wing Populism in America:
Too Close for Comfort,
by Chip Berlet & Matthew N. Lyons. Guilford Press, 2000.
This important volume offers an in–depth look at the historical roots and
current landscape of right–wing populism in the United States. Illuminated
is the potent combination of anti–elitist rhetoric, conspiracy theories, and
ethnic scapegoating that has fueled many political movements from the colonial
period to the present day. The book examines the Jacksonians, the Ku Klux Klan,
and a host of Cold War nationalist cliques, and relates them to the evolution
of contemporary electoral campaigns of Patrick Buchanan, the militancy of the
Posse Comitatus and the Christian Identity movement, and an array of millennial
sects.
