Store sued over Bible claims

Ukiah, California — Early this year a Christian bookstore owner had to defend himself for advertising that the Bible is the word of God. A woman, Queenie Edwards, went to the Redwood Bible House and demanded that the owner, Ron Rudd, post a disclaimer on the door saying that they were falsely advertising Bibles as "God's Word." She followed up her complaint with a letter saying that the store used deceptive advertising and misrepresentation to buyers.

Finally, Edwards sued Rudd in small claims court, where a judge ruled in favor of the store. An appeal a month later also resulted in a favorable ruling for the bookstore.
